2023/2024 Grant Awards
Thanks to the generosity of the Riverton Pointe Community and Friends, the Riverton Charitable Fund (RCF) was able to award $24,000 in grants this year, our second year of giving. Partnering with the Community Foundation of the Low Country, RCF posted a funding opportunity and awarded six (6) grants to eligible 501c3 organizations, serving Jasper County residents in the areas of Education, Food Insecurity and Community Service. Below is a brief overview of the grant awardees.
Arts Center of Coastal Carolina
Project Title: Middle School Matters

Project Description: Friday Clubs for school year 2024 - 2025, 4 (9 week quarters) 175 middle school students rotate clubs each quarter Royal Live Oaks Arts & Science Charter School Hardeeville Clubs: drama, painting, needlework, step dance, singing/chorus drawing, photography, writing/graphic novels, game design

Operation Patriots FOB
Project Title: Warrior Peer Retreat
Project Description: Fostering a positive experience for veterans, active duty military, first responders monthly retreats - 268 acre facility, peer engagement comfortable relaxed environment helping our local heroes to find their purpose beyond active duty 120,000 vets, 30,000 active duty military in 90 mile radius 30,000 active & retired first responders in 90 mile radius

Project Title: Harvey Place Summer 2024

Project Description: Partnership with Forino builders & City of Hardeeville10 townhouses in downtown Hardeeville sold at cost 30 year interest free mortgage, monthly payments less than 30% household income Habitat fully vet's applicants: must be employed, low income,credit & criminal background check, letters of reference

HELP of Beaufort
Project Title: Feeding Beaufort County and Beyond

Project Description: Five (5) monthly food programs
( 3 are in Jasper ) 108 Jasper clients fresh. Express deliveries of shelf stable foods & produce free to the public. Five (5) pallets of fresh produce each month
Senior Commodity Box Program: 30lb box shelf stable foods & produce

Lowcountry Legal Volunteers
Project Title: Justice for Jasper
​
Project Description: Create & conduct 4 clinics on legal issues important to the community support case management, educational program development
law support for abused residents, evictions & unsafe housing, child support legal help in getting protective orders

Mental Health America of the Low Country
Project Title: Transitional Funding for Jasper House - Clients awaiting Insurance Approval

Project Description: Mmental health wellness advocacy, education, research, service estimated 1,200 Jasper County adults with serious mental illness. RCF grant would support program funding & client temporary insurance coverage ( mainly Medicare ) while they await approvals. Once insurance company payment is received, grant funds are returned to the program for other clients

Education
Antioch Educational Center
​
The Summer Youth Workers Program which since 2014 has placed over 350 high school students in work training programs throughout Jasper County.- The Scholars Program which is completing its seventh year targeting and supporting gifted and talented students from First grade through their graduation from high school.- The Nursing Assistant Training Program gradated its First class of seven students in November 2014. Since that time, another 81 students have also successfully graduated this program. This program consists of 110 hours of training (66 in the classroom, 44 hours in a clinical setting).

Food Insecurity - Pack the Pantries
Hardeeville Senior Center
​
Their mission is to improve the lives of our Lowcountry Citizens through fun activities, daily gatherings, nutritious meals and trips for seniors in our area. These services are provided through donations from the community, along with Government and State funding.
The Mercy Mission,
Through their wellness pantries, strive to provide healthy foods along with behavioral economics education to help make a systematic change in the lives of our clients throughout Jasper County. Clients are able to choose the amount of food they are allocated according to the size of their family, and are able to choose from items such as fresh produce, frozen meats, eggs, milk and other canned items.

Community Service
Jasper County Council on Aging
The Council on Aging has 18 employees, and delivers approximately 192 meals per day. These funds will be used to improve the lives of Lowcountry senior citizens through food deliveries to elderly home-bound citizens, Monday through Friday.
