On September 18, 2025 the Riverton Charitable Fund (“RCF”) was invited to the Hardeeville City Council meeting to present  members and the public with an overview of their efforts to date.  RCF chairperson, Stacy McAfee and co-chair, Carolyn Kassal, provided the City Council with an outline of the charity’s mission and accomplishments to date.

RCF’s mission is to bring Riverton Pointe neighbors together in support of Jasper County, working to meet local needs and improve the quality of life for all who live here.  The purpose of the RCF is to enhance lives through targeted outreach and investments in three areas:

  • Reducing Food insecurity

  • Strengthening Community Supports and Structures

  • Improving Educational Outcomes

RCF’s growth and success is evidenced by the increase in the grants made over the past 3 years.

  • In 2022 the Riverton Charitable Fund was formed.

  • In  2023 grants totaling $4,500 were provided to 2 nonprofits.

  • In 2024 grants totaling $24,000 were provided to 6 nonprofits.

  • In 2025, grants totaling $42,652 were provided to 8 nonprofits.

In addition to its fundraising endeavors, the RCF participates in quarterly and monthly outreach activities including the “Keep Jasper Beautiful” project, senior center donations, school supply  and food drives.  Most recently, the RCF partnered with Low Country Food Bank to distribute food to needy Jasper County residents.

Numerous members of the Hardeeville City Council expressed great appreciation to the RCF and the Riverton Pointe residents noting the tremendous impact this small organization and community are making on Jasper County residents.
